We Need Your Help

In 2021 when Lawton Denis began touring around United States he saw firsthand the true power of the “Bike-Life” movement. Many of the young riders he encounters live in major cities and have very limited resources available to them. Lawton has met thousands of young riders who come out to his events and show how riding bikes and the wheelie lifestyle that has become known as Bike-life has saved them from trouble and many of the difficulties of life.

Lawton has spent thousands of dollars on parts, and travel to these cities to continue to promote bike-life and keep these kids on bikes. For many of these kids this is all they have for recreation and exercise. Bike-Life is such an important part of these kid’s lives.

We are reaching out to the bike community and beyond to ask for help to keep the 12 O’Clock Project going.

What We Do

Lawton and his father Stan have spent an many hours fixing bicycles for young riders who show up to Lawton's events. Sometime with their bikes are literally in pieces.

Flat tires, broken chains, broken brake and shift cables, bent wheels, headset bearings missing and missing brake pads, Handle bar grips missing, we see it all.

We frequently see chains so rusty that when they break, you can literally stand the chain up because the links are so badly frozen.

How It Started

Lawton started buying bicycle chains, inner tubes, spare brake cables, shifter cables, grips and pedals as spare parts to be able to provide to the attendees of his ride-outs.

The Denis team started arriving 2 to 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time for the ride-out with the riders knowing that if they have bike trouble then they can show up and get their bike serviced for free.

We teach these riders how to repair and maintain their bikes and often times we give them the tools and bike care products required to keep their bikes and their friend's bikes running smoothly. Sometimes this is the first time that these kids have ever used tools.

It's such a good feeling when we come back a few months later and find that these riders are putting in more miles and having more fun because they are now self-sufficient with their bike maintenance .

How You Can Help

  • Monetary Donations, We have a PayPal & Venmo Account (Bottons are toward the top of this page) where anyone can donate. All money goes directly to buying parts and supplies and helps offset the cost of traveling to events.
  • Parts & Supplies, We have a running list of parts and supplies needed to keep these kids on bikes. The list includes Single Speed Chains, 10 Speed Chains, Tubes (26, 27.5 & 29), BMX rim brake pads, seats, brake levers, pedals, tires, multi tools and more. We also need another bike work stand and could really use a full bike tool set.
  • Man-Power, If you are a bike mechanic and you are located in or near one of the major cities that Lawton puts on events at, then we would be glad to have your help. The main cities are New York City, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Orlando. We do hit other cities however we are these four 3-4 times each year.
